Magic Squares Model

This is a 1:100 scale model I produced for my

final design proposal for the Magic Squares project

I have recently completed. The space is situated

underneath a Georgian Square named Abercromby

Square in Liverpool. The programme of the building

is a sustainable education center, intended to

spark debate and inform the public about how

human intervention is causing climate change and

how we can reduce or eliminate the effects we are

causing. The building in essence becomes a shelter

or capsule, holding archived and contemporary

knowledge, protecting it from the changes that happen

at surface level. The intention of placing the building

underground also invigorates debate about returning to

inhabit the earth, or womb of creation.
