Docklands Deterioration
The decay of the once proud, exciting port industry of Liverpool is in eager repair and full of opportunity.....
The site I have begun to investigate for my new project, SOS Catalyst.
Project Brief: -Unimagined scenarios provoking unimagined solutions-
This project investigates the possibilities of designing innovative
structures-installations to respond to unpredictable climates.
Dedicated to societies in peril primarily although not exclusively,
the intention is to explore and experiment with an Architecture
that investigates materials and ultra-materials creatively.

David Chipperfield
Have just got the catalogue for this exhibition and it is outstanding. A very eloquent choice of Chipperfield's projects have been selected to give the best indication of what a precise designer he is. The range of projects are from the recent Neues Museum, Berlin to the America's Cup building, Valencia.
I Look forward to Visiting the Neues Museum later this month, images will be posted in due time but here some from the America's Cup Building when i visited a couple years ago.

Alternative Cabanon
A collection of work composed from The Alternative Cabanon project from 1st year. The brief required a reincarnated version of Le Corbusiers Le Petite Cabanon situated at The Albert Dock. My proposal intended to become architecture like clothing, unique and that responded and reacted to the person inside. The space could be manipulated through a series of sliding and moveable apertures. These objects in turn become the furniture and determine the lighting conditions of the space.
Juxtaposition
This is my output for the summer works based upon the book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. The brief was to chose a single city as described in the book and then compare, contrast, consume and indulge in an exploration of urban topography. Specifically a city was visited, documented, read and experienced and the outcome was to bring the fictional and factional cities together. The spine of my investigation was based on the city of Palma, with narrow apertures and a labyrinth like network of streets. The city I feel is treated as a collection of squares, markets, arcades, churches and courtyards. These aspects of the city would be lifeless without human interaction. To be brief this exercise led me to consider the city as a container, a membrane of activity. The city is a theatre reflecting and refracting the activity it creates from within.
